THE FUJITA GIKEN STORY
The FUJITA GIKEN story begins in 1927. Mr. Usaburo Fujita began a small machine company in Yanagawa, Fukuoka, Japan. The first products were a rice straw bag production machine-Patented name is SEIENKI, a mechanical thresher and a plow for rice paddies.
In 1934, Mr. Usaburo Fujita invented a loom/straw bag machine that would produce mushiro bags from rice stalk. Our founder is celebrated in the city of Yanagawa and has a large monument in the Miyahashira Shrine which was sponsored by the citizens of the City of Yanagawa area. In 1941, Mr. Usaburo Fujita was awarded the Blue Ribbon Medal for his efforts in mechanical engineering at a ceremony in the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. (insert blue ribbon) It is one of the highest civilian awards in Japan, which is given out by the Emperor.
Fujita began manufacture of valves for tire presses in 1964, and changed its name to Fujita Valve in 1965.In 1970 Mr. Hiroshi Fujita, the adopted son of the founder, became the 2nd CEO of Fujita Valve. The 70’s, 80’s, saw expansion of our valve product line. Our original product was our full flow piston valve which we were awarded special accommodation by Bridgestone Corporation in 1970. (insert award) (insert full flow valve picture). In 1987 Mr. Shigeo Fujita, the adopted son of Hiroshi Fujita, became the CEO of what is now Fujita GikenIndustry Company Limited.
The late 80’s saw our product offering evolve again with the introduction of the reduced flow valve in 1988, and perfecting the 15A size in the 90’s. Products based on our full flow and reduced flow technologies are in use worldwide.
As an industrial engineering firm, Fujita is often asked to solve various problems in our field of expertise. In the early 90’s we were asked to produce valves for ORR tire presses. ORR tire presses produce super large tires for mining and associated machinery. We have perfected an 8 inch, 6 inch, 4 inch and 3 inch, 2 and 3 way piston valves in both single and double action . These valves come in multiple high pressure configurations and have extreme long life characteristics. Some of the original copies are still in use, 30 years after manufacture. In 2011 we re engineered these valves and they are now in use in multiple locations worldwide. (insert picture) Also based on this technology we also offer valves for the marine industry.
Used within the turbo generation plant, the ES Valve offers safe and effective control between the flashers and the turbo generator. These products also provide long service life and considerable value to our shipping partners.
FUJITA GIKEN also produces products for the environmental industry and defense industry. At present these products are only available for sale/use in JAPAN.
